NATIONAL CREDIT UNION ADMINISTRATION (NCUA) GUIDELINES

NCUA regulations are part of the larger Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, implementing the privacy portions of that act for consumers. Also known as the Consumer Privacy Act, it requires credit unions to notify customers about its information policies and how it treats customers' nonpublic personal information and personally identifiable financial information. It includes an "opt out" provision, allowing customers to prevent disclosure of private information to nonaffiliated third parties.
